Figure Skates

We carry skates suitable for "pond skating" to the competitive skater. Lower priced skates generally offer less support and either softer or less padding than higher priced skates.
We recommend leather skates for "badge" figure skating lessons such as the USFSA program - Skate with U.S., and ISI Learn to Skate Program. There are a few vinyl boots that offer enough support for a first time skater taking lessons, but generally, you'll want a leather skate for the instructional skater.
Once the skater begins to spin, jump or compete, you will need a skate with adequate support and the appropriate blade. There is a difference in skate boot and blade as you move up in test or competition level. Low-level freestyle skates start at about $80. The support, padding, blade quality and durability improve with the higher priced skates. Please call us if you have any questions.
Please Note - The factory grind on your blade that your skates come from the manufacturer with, is not recommended for skating on. We recommend you have your skates sharpened by an experienced technician before you step on the ice with your new skates. We will gladly sharpen your skates for you. Simply select the sharpening your prefer when ordering your skates.
