HISTORY Debby started designing skatewear in 1992, out of a need for quality skatewear for her daughter. As Debby's daughter's involvement in skating increased, so did hers in designing one-of-a-kind skatewear, not only for her daughter, but also for some of her daughter's friends. Thus the beginning of DEBDESIGN APPAREL! Over the years, Debby has made costumes for every level of skater, from the beginner, starring in her first competition, to national and international competitors.

When designing a dress for a customer, Debby involves the coach, parent(s), and the skater. She also likes to listen to the music the skater will be skating to when designing a program costume. All Debdesign dresses are front lined, and are made of top quality fabrics. Debby use's any combination of Swarovski® rhinestones, bugle beads, seed bead, sequins and pearls to decorate the costume. If you like to do the decorating yourself, you can purchase all your supplies at Debby's shop. Whichever you decide, you will end up with a beautiful costume you can be very proud of.

Debby also designs gymnastic leotards. The gymnast can come into the shop, look at some designs, or create her own, pick out her favorite fabric, and then have her one-of-a-kind leotard made! This is also a great gift idea for that special gymnast!

Need something altered or repaired - Debby can take care of that also.

SPECIAL ORDERS are never a problem. Here at Debby's, we will gladly special order any item with no extra charges. Quantity does not matter - one or one hundred.

PRODUCTS Since 1999, Debby's Dance and Skate Shop has offered a nice selection of products for Dancers, Skaters, Gymnasts and Cheer Leaders, outfitting them from head to toe. You'll find many of your favorites here - some of them are Danskin, Mondor, Jerry's Skatware, Rebel, Capezio, Leo's Dancewear, Mirella, Danshuz, Body Wrappers, Swarovski Crystals, Jackson Skates, Riedell Skates, Klingbeil, Ultima Blades, Mk & Wilson Blades Kaepa Cheer Shoes, Pear Custom Socks among others.

CONSIGNMENT ITEMS Debby's Dance and Skate Shop also has a consignment shop. We take gently used Figure Skates, Blades, Skating Apparel, dance skirts, dance and gymnastic leotards. Skates must be leather, and have all hooks attached, and still have good support remaining for resale. Blades must be quality products, and have a decent amount of sharpening edge left on them. Toe picks cannot have been tampered with. Clothing items must be clean, with no tears or stains. Items for consignment will be carefully examined before accepted into the program.

COMMUNITY SERVICE Debby provides skate service to a local organization - THE GLIDING STARS. It is a skating program for the handicapped.

Since 1989, Debby has volunteered at AHIHA (The American Hearing Impaired Hockey Association) a hockey camp for deaf and hard of hearing hockey players. It takes place during the month of June in Downers Grove, Illinois. The camp was founded by NHL Hall of Famer, Stan Mikita. Debby, as well as numerous other volunteers work all week, running errands, organizing parties, publishing a daily newsletter and of course, watching great hockey.
